Lawrence Davis – Handbook of Genetic Algorithms
Amazon.com Review
Handbook of Genetic Algorithms is really two books combined into one. The first book is a 100-page introduction to genetic algorithms. It covers the basic genetic algorithm along with hybrid genetic algorithms and order-based genetic algorithms. The second book is a collection of 13 academic articles on genetic algorithm applications. These articles cover a wide range of applications, including aircraft design, multiple-fault diagnosis, and sequence scheduling, and appear to have no common theme. The introduction to genetic algorithms is accessible to anyone who has taken a few computer science courses; the academic articles assume that you are well versed in genetic algorithm theory. –This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
