Teresa Martin – Diabetes Medications and Improving Adherence

First presented at the OPSO 2019 Annual Primary Care Conference on September 28, 2019, Teresa Martin, RD, CDE, LD discusses barriers in patient adherence to diabetes treatment programs and explores avenues for improving patient outcomes.

Educational Objectives:

1. Understand evidence-based recommendations for non-insulin therapies for optimal diabetes management
2. Define 3 types of non-adherence and the difference between intentional and unintentional non-adherence
3. List at least one solution for overcoming the most common barriers to diabetes medications
